In Honor of the Easter Season

In keeping with the upcoming Easter holiday, we at Lund-Ross would like to share a recently completed project in the religious facilities sector. Below are photos of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church located in Kearney, Nebraska.

This 25,800 square-foot church was designed by RDG Planning and Design. The church has seating for 680 parishioners and features exposed timber roof trusses, a baptismal fountain, stained glass windows, and 30-foot murals.

Enjoy the photos. If you have any questions or comments, we would like to hear from you. Feel free to contact us at lundross.com, via our Facebook page, or call us directly at 402.342.2810.

Lund-Ross Earns National Award for Excellence in Construction

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that Lund-Ross Constructors earned a Pyramid Award for the renovation of the Jindra Fine Arts Building at Peru State College. The award was announced at the 23rd annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

The Jindra project team of Lund-Ross Project Manager Scott Brown, Superintendent Don Koubsky, Jackson-Jackson & Associates, Inc., Farris Engineering, and Peru State College were all recognized at the Excellence in Construction Awards.

“This project is an outstanding example of the innovation and commitment to superior craftsmanship that embody merit shop construction,” said Michael D. Bellaman, ABC president and CEO.

The $5-million renovation included the interior demolition of the 25,496-square-foot brick and precast fine arts facility. A large section of the roof was elevated to improve acoustics, and 34 new windows were added to create more natural light. The building received new electrical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems and a new energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling system. Despite a series of challenging conditions and delays, Lund-Ross completed the renovation of the Jindra Fine Arts Building on time and under budget in July 2011.

The Excellence in Construction Awards are the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. Winning projects are selected from entries submitted from across the nation and are judged on complexity, workmanship, innovation, schedule, cost, and safety.

A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year's panel included representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering News-Record, the American Institute of Architects, and the National Association of Women in Construction.

Lund-Ross Constructors was founded in 1987 in Omaha and is an award-winning general contractor with annual revenues between $40 and $45 million. Lund-Ross leads projects across the Midwest in the commercial, residential, educational, religious, and public sectors. Lund-Ross joined ABC in 2002.

ABC is a national association with 72 chapters representing 22,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million employees.
